Smart Source LLC Acquires Kaye-Smith Enterprises

Smart Source LLC, a print services provider and distributor based in Palm Beach, FL, announced that it has acquired the assets to Kaye-Smith Enterprises, another print services provider and distributor base in Bellevue, WA.

Jim Anderson, founder and president of Corporate Development Associates, represented Kaye-Smith during the acquisition.

“We are delighted to announce this acquisition as an expansion of our business in the Pacific Northwest and more specifically the greater Seattle area of Washington State and the Portland area of Oregon,” Tom D’Agostino Jr., founder, president and owner of Smart Source, said in a press release. “Kaye-Smith has been a great and well respected company for many years and maintains a dominant position in the print and promo products industry, particularly in the [Pacific Northwest.] Like Smart Source, Kaye-Smith has a long and rich history of managing their clients’ print spend on an enterprise level, delivering year-on-year value and brand control for their clients. This acquisition will enhance our current operational strength west of the Rockies, adding to our significant presence in California – both North and South – and Hawaii.”

In addition to marketing solutions for customers, Kaye-Smith distributes products across the print and promo spectrum such as signage, apparel, drinkware and more, including branded kits combining multiple products.

The addition of Kaye-Smith complements Smart Source’s business distributing commercial print products like forms, stationery, packaging, POP displays, signage, posters, decals and vehicle wraps, in addition to its promotional hard goods business.

Smart Source estimates that the acquisition will increase its annual sales to approximately $250 million over the next year.

“The acquisition will benefit our primarily PacWest-based clients by now being part of a larger national company that has been built on reliability, quality, prompt service and innovative solutions,” Kaye-Smith owner Alex Smith said in a statement. “By joining forces with Smart Source, Kaye-Smith will bring many additional product capabilities, deeper marketing spend category expertise, complex BPO print management experience, and sales office [and] distribution locations to our existing customers.”

Kaye-Smith will retain its name going forward but with “a Smart Source Company.”
